WOW Wings Trivia Soup Review

It's Trivia Night!

Which Italian favorite soup traditionally contains pasta, vegetables and cheese?  (See bottom of post for answer)

Thursday night is trivia night folks! Let me tell you, the dream team plus one (my husband) may have special skills and talents in the world of soup but trivia is not one of them. No, there are 7, almost 8, college degrees between the four of us and we have managed to come in last place every week.  No worries, I held my own getting the Jersey Shore question right. You best believe.

We frequent WOW Cafe & Wingery on Thursday nights for trivia. Last week, we decided to sample their menu of soups including: chili, baked potato, gumbo, red beans and rice, and chicken tortilla.  Here you can find our reviews.  We have ranked them on a scale from 1-10 with 10 being the best.

Red Beans and Rice:  disqualified.

Yea, they tricked us. We thought this was a soup spin on the classic red beans and rice. SIKE! No, it was just plain ole' red beans and rice so we eliminated it from the competition.

Potato soup:  2

Edible but not worth ordering. This soup topped with bacon and cheese left little to be desired. We've had better potato soup from a can. Need we say more?

Gumbo:  4

Better than canned. That's a start. This soup was hearty but bland and could definitely use a little kick to it. We did appreciate the texture of this soup but probably wouldn't order it again.

Chicken Tortilla soup:  7

This was definitely our favorite of the options and we loved the display of tortilla chips. This soup was the right consistency and was full of flavor. We would order this soup again but would like to see more chicken and beans. Sour cream or guacamole could be a nice touch too.

Chili: 5.5

This chili had really nice flavor but the texture was controversial for our crowd. This was a very fine, bean-less chili that reminded us of a topping or ingredient chili that you would add to Italian sauces or top hotdogs and potatoes. Overall, we liked it well enough but not for ordering solo.

'Till next time,
Natalie
